ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Job Title:Associate Pastor

Work Schedule:Full Time / 45 hrs per week (average)
Position Summary:
The Associate Pastor at Summit Park Church plays a pivotal role in fostering volunteer connections and recruitment, providing pastoral care, supporting church-wide small groups, assisting in connections events, and aiding staff in developing leaders in Discipleship and Hospitality. This individual is expected to demonstrate a deepening relationship with God and a commitment to facilitating spiritual growth in others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Small Groups:
• Assist in the implementation of small group strategies.
• Continuously develop small group leaders and coaches through recruitment, training, and appreciation.
• Oversee and encourage small groups to take ownership of local service projects.
• Contribute to the planning and strategy for launching small groups each season.
• Attend regular small group leader events to foster growth and community.
• Strategically increase involvement in small groups.
• Address issues, find solutions, and manage conflicts within small groups.
Connections Teams:
• Assist in implementing strategies for Connections.
• Continuously recruit, train, and appreciate volunteers for Hospitality and Prayer Teams.
• Support the scheduling and rostering of Hospitality and Prayer Teams to ensure adequate coverage.
• Coordinate training and follow-up for new volunteers interested in Hospitality and Prayer Teams.
• Collaborate with the Connections team on enhancing curriculum, marketing efforts, and attendance reporting for relevant programs.
• Address issues, find solutions, and manage conflicts within serve teams.
• Support the overall operations of Hospitality Services.
Discipleship:
• Recruit, train, and develop volunteers passionate about discipleship.
• Collaborate with leadership to determine optimal discipleship strategies for the church.
• Manage logistics and administration for discipleship events.
• Take responsibility for overall attendance at discipleship events through recruitment and promotion.
• Facilitate the discipleship plan for individuals making decisions for Christ.
• Address issues, find solutions, and manage conflicts within discipleship teams.
Weekend Service Responsibilities:
• Engage with lobby and serve team areas before, during, and after services, prioritizing connection and encouragement of team members, leaders, and coaches.
• Attend one service in its entirety, demonstrating front-row leadership by punctuality and active engagement.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to lead other leaders effectively.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Attentive listening skills and empathetic communication style.
• Proficiency in administrative tasks, including Microsoft Office suite and database software, is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
• Accredited bachelor’s degree preferred.
• High school diploma required.
Expectations:
• Available for ministry activities two nights per week, with an additional night for First Wednesday.
• Exhibit evidence of personal spiritual growth.
• Regular participation in a Small Group.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries in personal and ministry life to uphold character and integrity.
• Commit to giving 10% of income to the ministry of Summit Park Church.
• Pursue opportunities to engage with individuals distant from God.
