WEEKEND FACILITIES ASSOCIATE

Position Summary
The Weekend Facilities Associate supports the preparation, operation, and upkeep of Summit Park Church’s campus during weekend services and other scheduled ministry activities. This position helps ensure that facilities are clean, safe, functional, organized, and welcoming for guests, volunteers, and staff.
Serving as the primary on-site Facilities representative during weekend services, the Weekend Facilities Associate performs routine custodial and light maintenance duties, responds to facility-related needs, and assists with room and event setup. This role requires someone who is dependable, attentive to detail, comfortable working independently, and committed to providing excellent service.

Work Schedule
This is a weekend position scheduled primarily during the church’s busiest ministry times.
  • Saturday: Approximately 3–4 hours for campus preparation
  • Sunday: Approximately 8 hours during worship services and weekend activities
Additional scheduled hours may include:
  • Approximately four hours during First Wednesday services
  • Conferences, holiday services, special events, and other ministry activities
  • Occasional schedule adjustments based on the church calendar and facility needs
Regular weekend attendance and schedule flexibility are essential functions of this position.

Essential Responsibilities

Facility Readiness and Appearance
  • Prepare and maintain indoor and outdoor areas to support weekend services and scheduled events.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the campus to identify cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and operational needs.
  • Perform general custodial duties and maintain a consistently clean and presentable environment.
  • Monitor restrooms, gathering areas, classrooms, kitchens, entrances, and other frequently used spaces.
  • Maintain exterior areas, including entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and landscaped spaces.
  • Identify and address routine facility needs before they affect guests, volunteers, or ministry activities.

Weekend Operations
  • Serve as the primary Facilities contact during assigned weekend services and activities.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to spills, safety concerns, equipment issues, room needs, and other facility-related requests.
  • Monitor the condition and appearance of the campus throughout the day.
  • Coordinate with pastors, staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders to support weekend operations.
  • Assist with room transitions, event setup, and teardown as needed.

Maintenance and Project Support
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and routine building-system checks within the scope of the position.
  • Report concerns that require specialized repair or additional attention.
  • Assist with furniture and equipment assembly, light construction, facility improvements, and other assigned projects.
  • Safely move tables, chairs, staging, equipment, and other materials.
  • Use facility tools, equipment, and supplies safely and responsibly.
  • Support the Facilities Coordinator with other operational responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Willing to support the mission and ministry of Summit Park Church through a service-oriented approach.
  • Previous experience with custodial work, facility operations, basic maintenance, or hand tools is preferred.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Remain active and on foot for extended periods.
  • Frequently walk, bend, reach, climb ladders, and move equipment.
  • Perform custodial and light maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors.
  • Work in varying weather and environmental conditions when attending to exterior areas.
