Position Summary
The Young Adults Pastor is responsible for leading the Young Adults, Men’s, and Sports Ministries at Summit Park Church. This individual will provide vision, leadership, and pastoral care by creating environments where people can find and follow Jesus through discipleship, authentic community, leadership development, and outreach. The ideal candidate is a relational leader with a heart for developing people, building volunteer teams, and creating pathways for spiritual growth across multiple ministry areas.

Key Responsibilities

Young Adults Gatherings & Events

• Plan, coordinate, and lead Young Adults gatherings, services, worship nights, and special events.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and pastor Young Adults event volunteers.
• Build and oversee a healthy volunteer team that supports ministry initiatives.
• Manage and steward the Young Adults ministry budget.
• Create environments that foster connection, discipleship, and outreach.

Leadership Development

• Recruit, disciple, and develop a Young Adults leadership team.
• Create and maintain a leadership pipeline that identifies and develops emerging leaders.
• Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, and training for ministry leaders.
• Follow up with individuals expressing interest in serving or leadership opportunities.
• Lead and develop young adult leaders who are actively serving throughout the church.

 
Small Groups & Discipleship

• Build and oversee a thriving Young Adults Small Groups ministry.
• Recruit, train, equip, and care for Small Group leaders.
• Maintain regular communication with Small Group leaders.
• Evaluate and approve Small Group curriculum and discipleship resources.
• Encourage spiritual growth through biblical teaching, discipleship relationships, and community engagement.

Pastoral Care & Church Integration

• Build meaningful relationships with young adults and provide pastoral support when appropriate.
• Develop a clear pathway for graduating high school seniors to transition into Young Adults ministry.
• Partner with Summit Park Youth to ensure continuity in discipleship and leadership development.
• Help young adults become fully engaged in the broader life and mission of Summit Park Church.

Men’s Ministry

• Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for the Men’s Ministry at Summit Park Church.
• Develop opportunities for men to grow spiritually through biblical teaching, discipleship, and authentic community.
• Plan and coordinate men’s events, gatherings, and seasonal experiences that encourage connection and spiritual growth.
• Recruit, develop, and support volunteer leaders who help lead and strengthen the ministry.
• Partner with the Small Groups ministry to launch and support men’s groups and Bible studies.
• Build relationships with men throughout the church and help them take meaningful next steps in their faith.

Sports Ministry

• Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for launching and developing Summit Park Church’s Sports Ministry.
• Design and implement a long-term strategy that uses sports as a pathway for outreach, community, discipleship, and church engagement.
• Research, evaluate, and establish sports programs, leagues, tournaments, clinics, and recreational events that align with the mission of Summit Park Church.
• Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders, coaches, and event teams to help build and sustain the ministry.
• Create welcoming environments where people of all ages and skill levels can build relationships, experience community, and take next steps in their faith.
